DON MOEN: Singer, Songwriter, Pastor And Just The Man With The Pure Soul

One of the best-known and respected recording artists in the Christian music industry, Moen has earned a worldwide reputation for his work as a songwriter and worship leader who has helped shape today's modern worship landscape.

But even though he has written more than 100 songs, recorded more than 17 albums which have sold more than 5 million units and led worship on every continent but Antarctica if you ask him - he won't say he's a worship leader or a songwriter. He says that he is on this planet with a purpose to be "an architect who designs products and events that help people experience God’s presence in a new and fresh way.”

Born June 29, 1950 in Minneapolis, Pastor Don Moen made inroad into global scene more than three decades ago through his inspiringly spiritual songs.

He was working in the field by the early '80s. He grew up in Minnesota, then attended Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma, where his musical talents first bloomed. During the late '70s and early '80s, he was a musician for Terry Law Ministries, first playing guitar and trombone but later adding arrangement and production to his resumé. In 1984, Moen was hired by Michael Coleman of Integrity Incorporated, authors of the praise & worship series Hosanna! Music. As worship leader, he helmed many successful volumes in the series, including Hosanna! Music: Give Thanks, which moved hundreds of thousands of copies and became the label's best-seller.

He worked for Integrity Media for over 20 years, serving as creative director and president of Integrity Music, president of Integrity Label Group, and an executive producer of Integrity Music albums. He left Integrity Media in 2008 to start a new initiative "The Don Moen Company". Moen received a Dove Award for his work on the musical God with Us in addition to amassing nine nominations for his songs.

The Don Moen Company acquired MediaComplete, the church software company that created MediaShout. Moen became a radio host for Don Moen & Friends in 2009.

Don is as popular overseas as he is at home in the U.S. His travels for concerts and seminars have taken him to Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Guatemala, Honduras, and elsewhere. Today, Don is President of Don Moen Productions in Nashville, Tennessee, where he resides with his wife Laura and five children.
